Who We Are

Robotics builds a solid foundation in engineering and technology and gives a real life perspective on math and science. Team 254 is a robotics team from San Jose, California comprised of over 100 high school students. We participate in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), VEX, and Zero Robotics, all of which are worldwide robotics competitions that contain thousands of teams and hundreds of thousands of students. These competitions strive to inspire young people to be leaders in the technological and scientific world. Our robotics program encourages innovation and fosters well-rounded life skills including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

What We Do

Over the past 15 years, Team 254, “The Cheesy Poofs,” has grown from one of the smallest programs in the country to a large multifaceted organization. Team 254 began with 5 students in 1998, growing into one of the largest and most successful programs in the world with over 100 members. Our students regularly apply the skills gained from the FIRST and VEX robotics competitions to other projects including running the largest privately organized VEX Robotics tournament in California, building a T-shirt cannon that shoots 3 shirts per second, programming satellites on the International Space Station for the Zero Robotics Competition, and taking part in various outreach events to our local community.

Sponsor Us

The success of Team 254 is built upon a partnership which provides an exchange of resources and talents between schools, industry, and the community. Because schools lack the financial and physical resources needed to support the construction of a robot, we are seeking corporations and other groups to help us develop and enhance this successful partnership. By sponsoring Team 254, you will allow our students to realize their full potential as the next generation of engineers and scientists. Thank you for your consideration.
